Backpacking & All Backcountry Trips This part of a trip in the backcountry is also very rewarding. However, along with the joy and wonder come the daunting challenges that are part of the experience. Getting wet, cold, tired, hot and uncomfortable. Loading and carrying a heavy pack over miles of rugged and trail-less terrain, fording icy streams and rivers, climbing steep mountains and setting and breaking down camp are part of the entire experience. All this at the mercy of unpredictable and sometimes difficult Alaskan weather. Consider your decision carefully and ask yourself if you have the fortitude to endure the Alaskan wilderness. Remember, most importantly, a positive attitude and a healthy sense of flexibility are essential to an enjoyable experience.

Please describe your regular fitness/conditioning plan Don't skimp here, and again, if you're completing this form on behalf of others as well, make certain you get accurate info from them on this stuff. It can be disastrous if you don't.
Gear Requirements About the trip; will you need Expeditions Alaska's assistance with equipment or materials (e.g. fuel, gear rental, etc)? By default we include a bear vault to carry your food (BV500) and hiking poles for you. If you are providing your own and do NOT need us to provide that, let us know here. Let us know (again) if you ordered a tent, for example, or are bringing your own.
Ice traction If you're doing a trip like the 7 Pass where we need traction for the glacier crossing, you need Kahtoola microspikes or similar. Do you need us to provide those for you?
Guest shoe sizes Please list shoe sizes for all guests so that we can fit the appropriate size microspikes. Approximate is okay.
Basecamp trips This type of a trip in the backcountry can be super fun. But they're also often a little more challenging than some folks expect. This section of the form will help us make sure we know what we need to know to tailor the trip for you.

Backpack versus basecamp Are you comfortable with backpacking a little? Ideally we'll fly in and hike to where we set up our basecamp. That maybe a few hundred yards or it may be a few miles. Let us know what can work for you.

Fuel type and quantity Since you're doing your own food, you need fuel to cook with. Would you like us to get that for you since you can't fly with fuel? If so, please let us know what type of fuel you need and approximately how much. e.g. 2 x 8ox cans of isopro, etc
If we're doing food for you, we'll have you fill out our food form. That's where you'll indicate dietary restrictions such as allergies, etc, likes, dislikes, and so on.
