  1. Hey Folks,

I’ll go ahead and post a coupe of pictures already: this is Mike:

    Mike

He’s coming back for his 2nd trip this year, is a ton of fun to hike with, gets a bit cheeky sometimes and needs to be reprimanded. Nah, Mike’s good people, an Aussie like myself, living in Mallorca. He and his wife have spent the last 2 years restoring a very old stone Villa in the beautiful old town of Soller, on the north coast of the island.

Mike is a keen treker and has been to many parts of the world seeking untouched wilderness areas.

I stole the above passage from his post on the blog for his trip last year. Now, after hiking with Mike, I can add that’s a voracious walker, and climbs hills like a mountain goat. This year he’s offered to carry at least 2 items out of each person’s pack to handicap him back a little. And he gets up REALLY early. 🙂

    Cheers

    Carl

  2. Hey Folks,

And here’s Sergei, This photo was taken a few years back on his first trip to Wrangell-St. Elias with me, to Iceberg Lake.

    Sergei

Sergei’s a Russian, now living in Virginia – he teaches some kind of science that I can’t even spell, so I’ll let him explain it more. This is Sergei’s 5th year hiking with me, and I look forward to having him back – it’ll be great to catch up, Sergei.

    Cheers

    Carl

  3. Keith

Thanks to everyone for your flexibility in the schedule so that we could join in – I appreciate it. My sons’ names are Ronnie (19) and Hank (15) – Ronnie will be moving in to his freshman year in college a day after we get back so this trip will be his send-off.

Sergei, I’d be interested to know where you teach in VA – we are in Richmond.

Best wishes and thanks again for flexing for us – Keith
