Gear and equipment stuff
This is primarily what we use to confirm what to pack for you. If you check "no" our gear manager will pack anything for you.
Spend some time here. Do just blow through this and hit submit. Questions, comments, info, etc that you need us to know,
Thanks
Do you need assistance with any gear for your trip?* Gear items such as tents or fuel, BRFC, hiking poles, etc? If you check no, we will assume you are providing everything yourself, and do not need ANY assistance with ANY gear.
I require ...* SUPER IMPORTANT!
If “yes” above, please check the items below that you will need Expeditions Alaska to supply/provide for your trip. You do NOT need to mark Stove and Fuel if we're doing food for you. We'll provide that. You carry it!
If you need a stove or fuel, etc. tell me what type, a white gas stove or a isopro stove, how much fuel you want, etc. Don't just say "fuel" with no further details. That's not super helpful.
If you have your own bear vault for food storage and hiking poles, uncheck those.
Any General gear needs, questions, comments, etc?* Put them here please. No need to list bear spray, we include it with all relevant trips for the group. Any other non-listed items you need us to provide for you outline here.
If you require fuel, please list the type and volume here, or any other gear items you may require. If you need more than one of anything, for example, 2 tents, pleast specify that in this section
Shoesize for Microspikes* If you are doing the 7 Pass Route, or Southern Traverse or Malaspina Glacier trip, or any custom trip with glacial travel, and you didn't already, please be sure to let us know your shoe size so we can outfit you correctly with microspikes for walking on ice. Thanks.
Are we providing your food on this trip? If we provide food for you, we will include a mess kit, your bowl, cup, fork, spoon, etc. We provide the stove, fuel, cookware, etc, so you don't need to check those items above if we're doing your food.
Remember, for backcountry trekking and paddle trips, if we're providing food and gear for you, and we're perfectly happy to, we do NOT carry it for you. So pack with that mind, that when you get here, you need to have room in your backpack for your food, and Bear Proof Canister , approx 9" diameter and 12.7" long. Same thing with your tent.
For photo tours such as any of the brown bear trips where we provide food, we're not moving camp and nobody is carrying anything and (ironically) we do not need the bear vaults.
Have you filled out our Food Info Form yet? If not, check "No", and you'll be redirected to that form immediately after submitting this one. Thanks.
I think it'd be best to knock that out already .. Click here" A stove We CAN provide a stove for you, if you need it. Usually something like an MSR Whisperlite (white gas) or a Jetboil or Reactor (Isopro). Let us know what type of cooking you're doing, if you just need boiled water or are cooking with a pot, etc, let us know.
Do you need a cooking pot (such as when using a White gas stove) or just boiling water on a Jetboil, etc? More info helps, thanks.

COVID-19 - ARCHIVE In times of this COVID-19 pandemic, we are being as cautious as we can with mitigating viral spread. Please respect our concerns and the concerns of your fellow travelers. Thanks so much.
We'd really, really, REALLY like it if you can be vaccinated before your trip here in Alaska. I mean, we'd REALLY like it a lot. Alaska does have vaccine centers setup at the major arrival airports where you can get a shot on arrival, but it'd be great if you can please go get a shot before your trip and arrive here with a much lower risk factor. Thanks so much

More info - ARCHIVE Please provide vaccine and relevant covid status info here. Thanks.
Another note on COVID, June 2022
We'd ask all travelers to get a COVID test within a few days before your trip departure. If you test positive, please let us know and understand we can't take that risk in the field.
We also appreciate the potential for a person testing negative prior to a trip then becoming symptomatic during a trip. For this reason we're asking all people to bring their own N95 quality mask on the trip. At this point our policy is that we won't typically wear the masks unless we have a reason to protect ourselves and other guests on the trip from a likely infection. But it's better to have a mask along than not.
if you'd like to read our current COVID-19 protocols and policy please ask and we'll send a copy to you.
Thanks for your understanding.
Updated Medical Info We want to make sure we're as prepared as we can be, and have a full knowledge of any medical conditions we might need to know about, or that may affect your fitness, and mobility, etc. Have you had any changes in your health since you completed the Reservation Questionnaire? If so, note them below. Thanks.
General message
Help us help you Please help us out and set yourself up for success in the event that travel plans are altered due weather delays etc.
My suggestion is to please let someone at home know your detailed travel plans, including flight numbers, times, airlines, departure arrival info, etc, and your hotel arrangements.
If we're in the field and can't make it back to town on time due weather or other event beyond our control, things are a easier to resolve if you give us a name to contact and that person already has all has your info. For international travelers this could include passport info, etc.
Thanks folks
