One of the photos I really want is a big grizzly bear standing upright, with a nice background. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a few opportunities, and unfortunate enough to blow every single one of them. This one got close.
A rare encounter in Denali National Park led to hours photographing a grizzly sow and her two cubs feeding on a caribou carcass. After a missed wolf sighting and a lucky break from the bus driver, the experience became one of my most memorable wildlife photography days in Alaska.
